19th Cent. Napoleon III Amboyna  ‘Cave a Liqueur’ Drinks Box, French

Superb antique amboyna wood ‘Cave a liqueur’, drinks box. This French, Napoleon III period wood tantalus or liqueur caddy, has a serpentine front, with a hinged lid and doors.  These open to reveal 4 x engraved crystal decanters with cut stoppers, plus 16 x crystal stem glasses, set within a removable caddy.  It also features beautiful ebonized bronze inlaid cartouches on the lid and door, along with parquetry borders on the front and top.  Additional bronze banding trim around the top edge of the box. Standing on 4 x small round feet.  Complete with original working lock and key.
