Antique 19^th Century Gilt Bronze Fire Screen, French, C. 1880

A striking 19^th Century Gilt bronze ormolu fire screen.  The screen is raised on finely scrolled feet.  The central mesh decorated with panel depicting intricately carved kissing love birds on a grape vine, below an eternal flame.  Striking feather finials at each corner. The  outer frame is decorated with beautiful scrolled foliate elements on either side, highly decorative swag design on the base, and crossed flaming torcheres on the central crown.

A superb quality fire screen.
