Antique Desk Set, Including Inkwells, Pen Stand, Candlesticks and Vases, French, C. 1890

A wonderful and very decorative desk set, consisting of double pen cradle (one either side), with two crystal lidded inkwells, plus a central cylindrical lidded box to store pen nibs, sealing wax, etc. all set on a heavy rectangular base, which sits upon 4 ball feet. Plus a pair of single stem candlesticks, and a pair of flower vases with fluted top glass inserts.

Made from solid brass and silverplate, the base of each piece is beautifully decorated with intricate filigree work, and surrounding roundels each featuring a different portrait.

A superb, unusual desk-top accessory dating to the late Victorian era, around 1890. Measuring 9 1/2" x 6 1/2" foot to foot
