19th Century French Napoleon III Black Lacquer ‘Cave a Liqueur’ Caddy or Tantalus

Magnificent antique Black Lacquer ‘Cave a liqueur’. This French, Napoleon III period black lacquer tantalus or liqueur caddy, features bronze, tortoiseshell and mother of pearl inlaid cartouches on the lid and doors.  Additional bronze banding trims the top and front panels of the box.

Standing on small round feet.  Original lock and key.

Inside contains 4 x crystal decanters plus 16 x crystal glasses embellished with gilt decoration.
