A good pair of large Meissen porcelain vases. The main body with finely painted flowers front and back. The handles in the form of swans and pedestal type base with gilt highlights.
Meissen was the first European hard-paste porcelain. The production of porcelain began at the royal factory at Meissen, near Dresden in 1710 and attracted the best artisans to become one of the most famous porcelain manufactures known throughout the world which it still is to this day.
