A pair of magnificent Renaissance style antique bronze ewers with two patinas. The main body is patinated and adorned with bas-reliefs after Clodion portraying scenes with putti. Above this is a gilt bronze frieze decorated with vine leaves and grapes, whilst below is decorated with gilt bronze acanthus leaves

The handles are entwined with vine leaves and fruit, and ending with a bronze satyr head. Each has a winged bacchic-putto sitting astride, holding a bunch of grapes and goblet.  A magnificent superb quality pair of ewers.

French, Circa 1880

Condition. Very good Condition.
