Early 20^th Cent. Marble Sculpture of a Bather By Guglielmo Pugi, Italian C.1910

Beautiful Marble sculpture of a naked female bather, seated on rocks at the water’s edge. She is holding an amphora whilst pouring water. Her hair is piled in a bun at the back. The sculptor well understood the female anatomy, this is an exquisite example by Guglielmo Pugi.  Signed by the artist.

Guglielmo Pugi (1850- 1915) born in Fiesole a small town close to Florence. He was a highly regarded and skilled sculptor who specialised in female figures and busts.
